Our History

Sanders Decorating & Design is family owned and been in the decorating business since 1948.
 
At Sanders Decorating & Design our experienced design consultants are available to help bring your ideas to life. We offer a full range of interior decorating from conceptual ideas to professional installations. We're your one-stop source for custom window fashions, wallcovering, paint, floor covering, home accessories and decorating supplies.

Sanders Wallpaper and Paint in Glasgow, Missouri The first location of the Sanders Decorating Services, shows Herman and Eleanor Sanders, Floyd Sanders, Steve Sanders (on counter) and Thelma Sanders.

From design consultation to expert installation, we take pride in everything we do. A tradition that has lasted 60 years serving our customers’ design and decorating needs.

In 1948 Sanders Wallpaper & Paint was born. Started by Herman Sanders and his wife, Eleanor, with their son Floyd and his wife, Thelma in Glasgow, Missouri. Sanders Wallpaper & Paint offered an outstanding variety of 8-10 paint colors.

In the fall of 1958, Floyd and Thelma Sanders opened Sanders Decorating Company in downtown Salisbury, Missouri. This second generation store expanded to offer construction in addition to the retail store.

35 years later, in 1993, Steve Sanders, son of Floyd and Thelma, purchased the business with his wife M’liss. To reflect the additional design expertise M’liss offered as an interior designer, the couple changed the name to Sanders Decorating and Design. Offering floor covering, window treatments, paint, supplies, wallcovering, and expert installation, the business continues to flourish.

We pride ourselves on our history and the fact that the business has remained in the family for three generations. The tradition of quality will continue for generations to come.
